    Everyone’s familiar with the hit ballet performance, The Kansas City Ballet puts on a whimsical Nutcracker performance each year at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. This show is one you must attend with family and friends! Critics like The Washington Post rave about this captivating performance about a nutcracker that magically comes to life on Christmas Eve. It’s only around for a few weeks each year, so be sure to catch a performance if you can.

  2. Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s Christmas Eve & Other Stories – December 7

    Rock music? Check. Beautiful visuals? Check. Pyrotechnics? Check. The Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s holiday performances are stunning.  TSO puts a refreshing twist on traditional Christmas music with their returning Christmas Eve & Other Stories performance. Kids from 1-92 will love rocking out. The show is only one day this year, December 7 at the Sprint Center, so get your tickets NOW!

  3. Christmas Festival – December 20-23

    Each year the Kansas City Symphony puts on a dazzling performance known as Christmas Festival. With an unforgettable choir and Christmas carols, the whole family will get into the holiday spirit as they sing along to the magical songs performed by the KC Symphony. Little ones will love seeing Santa as he stops by quickly to spread the holiday cheer!

  4. Visit The Mayor’s Christmas Tree

    Mayor Lucas already turned the holiday lights on the day after Thanksgiving at Crown Center, but there is still plenty of time to catch the display. With an ice skating rink, holiday train and treats to enjoy, make the Mayor’s Christmas Tree in Crown Center one of your must-sees this holiday season.

  5. KCP&L Plaza Lights

    Each holiday season, the Plaza is transformed into every Christmas lover’s dream.  Miles upon miles are decorated with lights and the shopping center is turned into a spectacle. While the lighting ceremony has come and gone this year, you can enjoy the lights through mid-January. Fun fact – did you know that the big switch on the stage actually does turn the lights on and off and isn’t just for display?

  6. Holidays at Union Station

    Union Station is transformed into the most magical holiday wonderland during the holiday season. There’s a unique event happening nearly every day in December! Union Station also hosts an incredible New Year’s Eve party with multiple dance areas, balloon drops and of course a champagne toast. Ringing in the New Year at Union Station is a great event to attend with your significant other or group of friends!
